What difference does it make if he/she is male/female? I think most of the DW players need to be happy with the fact that the person is just a good player and not so concerned on their gender.

gender confusion has always been a feature in a game where we choose "handles". I know I've had ppl ask if I'm a girl, (not using "Vinnie", but other more ambiguous names) and I've mistaken other's gender. Does it really matter? A player is a player, and as Connie, Tania, Tess and others? have shown some of the very best players/cartel leaders don't have anything swinging down below.

I think your missing the point. I don't think no one is hung up on the fact that Deadwood's a dame( made me feel silly). It's just that a lot of us didn't know, including myself. Personally I've played with Deadwood quite a bit, and I must say I had no fucking clue!!! might I add I play with her month after month in the same cartel. When this thread started I thought it was a joke, apperently I stand corrected.
