CD burning

I only have 1 disc drive but I can burn CD's from Windows Media Player so I assume if I got a CD burning software I could use that instead? The reason I'm looking for something else is because the last few CD's I've made have fucked up through WMP.

If what I've said is correct.... which software is the best for it?
