i have to disagree with your 2nd definition seeing as how you have it defined would it an adverb
adverb:
Function: noun
Etymology: Middle English adverbe, from Middle French, from Latin adverbium, from ad- + verbum word -- more at WORD
: a word belonging to one of the major form classes in any of numerous languages, typically serving as a modifier of a verb, an adjective, another adverb, a preposition, a phrase, a clause, or a sentence, expressing some relation of manner or quality, place, time, degree, number, cause, opposition, affirmation, or denial, and in English also serving to connect and to express comment on clause content

but hey what the fuck do I know lolApparently not much. A noun is a thing, and a sound is a thing, so a sound is a noun. An adverb describes a verb, basically it tells how a verb is done.
Let's analyze the sentence below:
"I smoothly papped her and made a loud pap."
"I" is a noun.
"smoothly" is an adverb because it describes how I did it.
"papped" is a verb because it tells what I did.
"loud" is an adjective which describes a noun.
"pap" is a noun because it's the product of my verb.
Here's another sentence for you to try:
"I pappily papped her pap up the pap hole while the pappy pap was smearing pap on the mother papper."
I expect a full analysis of this sentence in the morning.

Tomorrow I shall begin at dawn.
A giant forehead shall I pap on the lawn.
And all shall hear the mighty pap
like a great and terrifying thunderclap!
Then the pap smear shall commence,
a soothing sound like elephants
rubbing snot out of their trunks
on eachother's asses while blowing chunks.

I actually do agree with you! Getting 10 points for every country you capture just encourages people to bust and attack whenever then want to.
Personally, I think it should be based on the amount of time you actually play on the games as a whole. In that way, you can be called a pro (by the amount of time you actually spend playing the games).
But then again, you'd find some people leaving their game logged in all day just to get the ranks, but I'm sure that something can be done to prevent it, like an inactivity period, where that time won't count. E.g. if you have not done anythin in say 10 minutes, then you're set to "away" or something like that and that time won't count for anything...

How will that solve the problem of people busting and attacking all the time?

I'm not saying it will. But why else do you think players bust and attack all the time? Isn't it only to get the ranks?
Besides, I'm relpying to this thread and not to "How will that solve the problem of people busting and attacking all the time?"...

I agree getting points for taking non-cap countries only encourages rank-whoring and earlier busting.
I don't agree with replacing it with a time-based system, this will just create another type of whore.
You should receive rank points for attacking, and defending, against another player (NOT miltia), more for attacking defending a cap.
I don't have a problem with 3k+ games, or with short games, if this is the strategy. I don't like a system that reward players who go against what their team wants (and rank-whore), and these non-team players end up supposedly leading the team.
I am usually a Colonel or something in pro, watching a few individuals ruin the enjoyment of most - then becoming Generals.

The reason why they have 3 top generals is so if some dumbass gets up there then there is probably 1-2 that can do it properly

Jimmy James
14th December 2006, 10:17 AM
I think rank should be based off of turns spend and winning or losing.
as it is now you get 1 point for every 10 turns, keep that. and you get 100 points for winning, keep that too. but add losing 50 points for losing too
