Yes because CTC is a microcosm to the whole of the combat section of the GC site. If you can do well at CTC you can do well in pretty much any of the combat games.

I wouldn't mind if TI was kept as long as CTC was taken off rotation.

I would have to agree, when you actually get a decent group of people playing it is a good time. perhaps vp's should be removed altogether so people play for the sake of playing not in hopes of some free vp's? Of course they will, but I'm talking about the players who truely don't know any better, not people who bust to intentionally fuck their team. If there is a rotation of game types that don't require you to learn/develop strategies, players who don't like sitting unbusted for hundreds of cycles will obviously join those games.

When i first started playing, i thought TI was cool cause it's so much more fast paced than the other games are most of the time, but I admit that it gets pretty gay. You can stay alive almost forever just by being active and anoying. I think the following two rule changes would make it a LOT more fun for everyone.

1.You shouldn't be able to move more than one territory at a time. That would keep people from leaping accross the map and just taking random defenseless territory and dragging the game out.

2.It should cost you a turn to move. This way your troops would actually matter and getting booted somewhere would actually have a cost.

I think these would make the game a lot better. any ideas?

If you are the only one in the game and if you are able to attack another team before they have any members then the beaten team vanishes.

e.g. you start on the Blue team. No one else joins for 20 mins. In that time you will have enough turns to get across to the green team and attack the one spot they have. If there is no one on the green team, then it vanishes when you beat the empty cell.

when ever a team has 140 booty for 1 cycle they win... the nose parts are 5 booty, teeth are 3, the rest are only worth 1... and you only start with 5 turns, you buy seamen with the booty you save up

I used to ignore CTC cause it was on rotation with TI and it was just easier to play the games that started when the games i was playing finished, but now i'm playing CTC and enjoying it quite a bit which even further enflames my constant dislike for treasure island. PLEASE, PLEASE, can we just make that game go away?? or put it on rotation with a bunch of other stuff. This wouldn't be hard, it doesn't require reprogramming any of the games, just changing what sequences it runs i believe. Anyway, there's been a lot of hate for TI on here lately and i wanted to take a moment to heap some more on :)

These forums are full of people complaning about TI, mostly because they are waiting for CTC to start.
Rather than scrapping TI (as suggested by some), how about changing the rotation sequence? i.e Rotate CTC with (? Battle for South America or Empires Express?)

In the available games list, maybe it could be separated into Available TEAM Games, and Available INDIVIDUAL Games;
OR
QUICK Games (CTC) and LONG Games (5-team);
and have similar games following each other on rotation.

Rank points from one game, should not translate into another (not sure if they do), i.e. you can't qualify for 5-team pro (or get higher rank) by playing one of the individual games - different games - different tactics - why should they get the same points.

ALL games should have an "Time Out". If a game has no-one on-line for a set time (varies, depending on game), it should automatically reset, so that we don't have a repeat of TI was idle for an entire (US) night, while the Australiasians and Europeans were waiting for CTC.

I haven't played all the games, so if anybody wants to add examples or comments to the above, please do.

Obviously premies have a huge advantage, and if a new person joins the game and builds bunkers, your team is pretty much screwed. I personally don't like the game, but I don't mind it being there, it's a great way for new players to learn the concept of GC, as it is a very basic game with some optional research thrown in.

Treasure Island doesn't relate at all to most of the other games. In Treasure Island, you buy troops, so ultimately Treasure Island is waiting until you get a lot of turns, then taking any land you see. In Battle for South America you build barracks, and optionally research labs. I'd rather have a person learn to play GC through BSA than TI. Besides, the last thing I want is for Treadon to get rid of BSA and add another Free Markets variant.

GREAT GAME! helps pass time while you're waiting on shit to happen in the other games. sucks when people join and don't play though. pisses me off! and 9 times out of 10 i'm always the captain, but nobody listens to me. noobs just run around takin head pieces and worthless shit instead of gettin the teeth and nose like i tell 'em to. if they listened and more people played, it'd be even better! all around good game though. fast paced and fun!

I disagree. TI is an awesome game when people play. It's fast paced and an all around good game. Helps time pass while waiting for turns and shit in other games. I think CTC is boring as hell. I know a LOT of people like it though. But I think CTC and TI should be fixed games, no rotation. Well, I'd atleast like to see TI that way, and I'm sure prolly 80% of everyone else would like CTC to be the same. But I'm an avid supporter of TI!!

Ok, I realise that Tyler Durden likes to mess up my threads, but I have a suggestion here. I know a lot of people who like to play TI, and a lot of people who would rather play CTC. I am a TI fan myself. Fast paced game, fun, lots of attacking, just an all around great game. Most of the GC3 players don't like blitz games and that's why they hate on TI. And I hate on CTC just beacause of the fact that it's gay. But we are all entitled to our own opinions, correct? Would it be that hard to make CTC a game that is readily available? As well as TI? I just got off work and signed on and the bulliten said "new round of CTC has begun" and i was brought down in the fact that I'm gunna have to wait half an hour to play TI. I know this thread is gunna draw a LOT of negative feedback due to the fact that a lot of people like CTC and not TI, but I'd like to have TI as well as CTC readily available for play. Would it be that hard to arrange? Please answer the poll and feel free to post your slander against me becasuse i want to play TI all the time :hidey:
