does your modem have an ethernet port, or only USB? I'm not sure if the 360 will let you use a USB modem, but you can buy an adapter at radio shack

no, not a modem. microsoft suggests using an internet sharing connection

Yeah I spent some time with Simon and we never got it working..I suggest trashing the cheap ass USB DSL modem and get one that will plug into a router through an ethernet connection..Seriously you guys shouldn't let your DSL techs install a USB modem if you have a choice..They like it because they can get in and get out in hurry but they WILL usually install a standard ethernet card and modem in your PC if you tell them too. I know the Cable modem guys are always trying the USB approach too..Lazy bastids..

just get a longer wire?

seriously, you can buy a 50 ft. (15-20 m?) ethernet wire. or if you have a cable modem, I'm sure there's a cable somewhere near your TV, just move your modem
