I cant get WMP10 or Realplayer to play a legitimate shop-bought DVD on my mates laptop. Media player classic plays it but why wont the others?
I've got the Codecs, the error message indicates it can't be played because of a copyright infringment - but it is a brand new version of the film so what's the problem?
Any suggestions?

I'm surprised they will at all. Why not just grab a copy of Power DVD or something along those lines?

lolz u still use VLC player aye good to see..
well VLC player has all in 1 codec it contains almost all the updated codec to play any type of video files... so try that :)
but im sure that real player should have picked it up when you put your dvd in your drive it should have auto runned it ...

Thanks guys. I took the laptop back to my mates. he had some more DVDs and they played fine so it looks like it was just that one film of mine. even his copies played.
