Look at the scores last round. It shows we NEED TO reduce the games AND award medals in all.

ive never gone to a medal room to test a strategy or to play in a cartel with friends that has no chance of winning (maybe i should :S ) but I think its important to keep some non-medal rooms for these reasons and so you can have fun without the pressure of everybody going for medals and, in a lot of cases, without cartels full of the best gunners in the game being there.
In a toss up between leave things the way they are and drop 2 rooms i voted that some rooms could do with being more competitive and dropping a couple of rooms might achieve this.

The onyl difference between 4 medal rooms and 8 medal rooms is it gives new/friend ran cartels a chance to medal. There's no major twist to medal games than non-medal games.

bollocks to the lot of u..8 games and first 3 are medal.
then least the carts wont hide in soft games to win

voted 8 and 8
with 8 rooms all should be equally competitive so the 'soft room' senario wouldn't be a major issue

and any room that was a soft room one round would not be the next
also as steff said it would give you a chance to help out more peeps in medal rooms

When rooms become "soft", gunners go there, so that is hardly a legt arguement.

i just don't want to see game B9 disapear! that is the first room i ever played in over 2 years ago and i have had my cartel in that room only! and to have to move to a new room would suck! but i do belive we need more rooms that are medal rooms and less rooms... so if they are cut back give me a warning!

Ok, a little challenge to the people who said "remain the same"... why? Nobody has been giving half decent reasons for keeping it the same so why do you think it should remain the same?

there still hasn't been any definitive input as to whether or not reducing the number of rooms would reduce the server load, which was the point of the original thread as far as I remember.
I don't know for sure, but I don't reckon it would reduce the load appreciably. IMO there would still be roughly the same number of total accounts, with them simply being more concentrated in the remaining rooms, as I doubt that many people play more than 16 games - then again, thats just speculation.
However, I think that if the number of medal rooms was increased the load on the server would actually increase. Again, this is just speculation as I don't have access to the data, but I imagine that at the moment the busiest rooms in terms of accounts being accessed in the last few minutes before reset are the medal rooms. If the number of medal rooms is increased, I think that you'd have more cartels trying to medal in more rooms, and therefore needing to do the last-minute stuff on a larger number of accounts.
Therefore I'm gonna vote Stay the Same, or whatever that option is.

lol fair enough
I dunno is increasing the number of medal rooms gonna help tho....cos its more rooms for people to have an opportunity of having an easy round in
which I guess would increase the winning medal scores, but I'm not sure I see what the problem is at the moment :$

Our A game score with 19 people would be one of the better scores if placed in B games. :P THAT is a major problem. Maybe decreasing the number of rooms and letting all rooms be medal competeing isn;t the solution, but it's better than what we usually do: bury our head in the sand.

gotcha
maybe its just a natural evolution due to different gunning trends within A and B?
i dunno

Maybe, but even with major suiciding Daqqers won clear out. When tehre was no non/medal games. I played for a few cartels though other than Daqqers... this trend might come back if the medal game barriers are dropped since people won't be saying "no I can't play for you, I'm gunning in that medal area"

If you knew your DW history you'd know this is an extremely inaccurate statement. It'll take at least 3 rounds before gunners start trying to show up there. Good cartels love having more places to medal from because if they can float, they stand a better chance of dominating.
I voted for reducing to 8 and medalling in 4. However, I'd actually like to reduce the number even further, and probably reduce it to two. Keep A1/B1 with Titan and A2/B2 with Ivory. Most of the other games won't be bringing the load those 2 main ones bring, and the competition (which there's a complete lack of) will be focused into the main games. I've always thought it to be completely retarded when people go "oh man I have earned 2380472389 medals." Well it's not that fucking hard to do it when you can play for every major cartel at the same time.

i think everyone should not worry about what goes on in the higher games, cause its a good place for starter players and cartels to build on,if the scores suk in the higher games then stay in the more competive medal rounds, everyone has to start somewhere, not everyone likes playin against the best all the time, its not effecting dopewars as a game so who cares!!!
