ubid.com do u think another online auction site can give ebay a run for it's money? I never heard of the site until today when i saw a commercial for ubid.com.

Nope, Ebay is the Amazon.com/google/(Insert other giant corporate name here) of the online auction world.

I've used both Ubid and E-Bay, and they just don't compare. E-bay, Amazon, Microsoft, are all companies that, in my opinion, established themselves in the market first, and will take something HUGE to overtake them. Many times, when they see a decent competitor, they'll quickly move to buy them out. I don't see another competitor coming into the picture for a long time, if ever.

That's in the US market anyway. Here in Chile, it's very difficult to import things, so it's much easier to use a couple of local similar services. I don't know how competition rates in other countries outside of the US for E-Bay. Not many people know about E-Bay here in Chile...
