So I'm sitting here making a sig bar and I get this notification that says something along the lines of "Your system has had significant changes since the first time you activated windows, you will need to reactivate windows within 3 days".
So okay, I have not made any real changes to my hardware, normal mouse and keyboard swaps, and I just got this new headset (http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products/details/US/EN,CRID=103,CONTENTID=10013). "It's pretty cool, I think."
So I hit the activate over the internet thing, and I get "This copy of windows has been activated too many time" or something like that.
I google it, and find this (http://www.infopackets.com/channels/en/windows/gazette/2006/20060620_forced_to_reactivate_windows_after_hardwa re_change.htm).
I found one of this guys statements to be pretty funny I wonder what the reaction would be from Microsoft's illustrious leader, if he bought say, a Brand new Mercedes and, two years later, he received a letter from the car dealer, asking for him to pay for the vehicle again.
So I just thought I would let windows users know, "Don't change your keyboard too much, cause that will cost you".

Yeah, I have yet to start learning Linux/Unix, and yes Vista sounds interesting alright.
Met a guy once that had it, and it will actually ask you for permision to edit the registry while attempting to istall programs, or some shit.
I don't think I'll like it.
Think I'll buy a Mac.
Talked to the guy in India, got this thing reactivated.
I'd like to do some unmentionables to Bill Gates.
I live in Washington, should go to Seatle and tell him about himself.

lol you wouldn't be alone in wanting a few words with the guy
I think every machine over here is gonna start shipping with Vista from April or so...I'm very likely gonna be looking for a -ix/ux alternative when I go for my next upgrade.

do you like fedora?
how does it compare to the other distros? and if i may ask, do you have any problems playing vids/audio/games and does it work with 802.11 wireless?
i use debian and i had troubles getting wireless to work at 1st and a couple other programs, but it's going good now.

*WOW* Goto I have never seen it do that before..are you sure you made no major changes in the last 3 months? It happened to me when I pulled a HD out and put it in another machine but I was able to reuse the key.

then i guess the wireless is a commen problem. fedora is the first ive used, so i cant help ya with the comparison. but the vids=vlc player, audio get the right codecs or if ur lazy just use vlc again. games, well i have not gotten in to linux games quite yet. so i use windows for the game s i like like wow, warcraft3 etc

Yeah I had to call MS too and they were pretty quick to fix it but still odd that he hadn't done anything to reflect it saying there were too many changes..
