Uhmm a place like that here should go for around 450 to 500 a month, no utilities, but keep in mind the wages are way lower too.

In Richmond, a 2 bedroom in a decent place is about 800-900 bucks a month. But you can get some things for that expensive kitty, they are just realllllly nice. For that price, you might as well buy a house around Richmond. Probably cheaper.

I forgot, we have to specify that we live in the South a.k.a. the poor part of the country. Everything is cheap here. Even a dollar only cost $0.75

My rent for a 2bd/2ba is $665/mo (no utilities). I have a private backyard, fireplace, attic, wetbar, security alarm, and central heat and air. If I wanted to save money, I could get a 2bd place here in the $400's.
That's in Jacksonvile, FL.

we are currently paying 625 for a 1 bedroom. The building is old but the neighbourhood is decent.
a 2 bedroom in a Newer building from the same part of town is a little over 800.

Its a fucking rip off around here, but at least my next door neighbour owns a 360 Modena (http://users.wfu.edu/rudni5/images/Ferrari360Modena/Ferrari%20360%20Modena.jpg)

Damn Vix, move down here. You could have a nice house for that much. Great schools and a nice neighborhood with a good sized house...
Oh and a kid from my high school got drafted by the REvolution this year too. Root hard for him (Adam Christman).

I live 30 miles east of Portland, Oregon...in the "suburbs" I suppose. We rent an older 3 bedroom house with maybe a little over 1000SF of living space, only one bathroom, a pseudo-attached single car garage, but a huge fenced backyard. No basement, no utilities paid, but a nice culdesac with only one house of the other four occupied. $825/month. My utilities alone total more than that in the winter.
The 2 bedroom house next to mine sold for $175,000 just a few months ago, while the one across the culdesac sold for just over $100,000 a little over a year ago.
Three years ago we moved from a two-story house almost twice this size in square footage 30 miles west of Portland, where we had four bedrooms, a sunroom, a detached two car garage, and unfenced acreage with water and garbage included for $1100/month. Suffice to say it was on a busy highway and I had a "Houdini child" escape twice after my dog got hit 100 ft. from our home. Landlord was a bit anal anyways.

Rent is £825 a month, but split between me and my flatmate.
Ridge - am looking at a mortgage now, but think i'll have to do a key worker assisted thing, unless i happen to find 30k in the next few months :(

Yay for Midwestern rent prices lol
Rent here for a 2 bdrm apartment ranges from 300 to 600 a month, sometimes with heat/gas , water, sewer included.
You Can pay more depending on the type of place and location I suppose.
You can buy homes here for anywhere from 18G to 60G and of course on up but a $30,000.00 home is a nice home here, quiet neighborhoods, nice big yards, garages.. good schools etc..
Im shocked at the rent/mortgages you pay in Canada and the UK :O
