ok so me and my friend r trying to make a web browser game, its gonna be like "advance wars"(gba)/ G-centry(jap. ps). so my question is what would be a good language to program it. we r considering python. dont say java my friend does nto like it.
also keep in mind we would have to learn it cause the only type of "language" we know is html, and a little php

im no expert, but youll probobly need more then one language to make anything decent. html, php, javascript for graphics, and something to handle databases.

dymond made a great first point...does it have gfx, or is it a flat databased game like dws?
the whole code of the game depends on what you are looking for.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Categorical_list_of_programming_languages might help for reasearch, however working with the CODE you do know is a great start, sometimes learning a new code can take a lot of time and effort!

Sounds like they might need something more than just PHP for that..
