I have this modem and recently it's started not working properly. It cuts out, then 'initialises' then cuts out (repeat a few times) then it'll go to 'operational'... then it'll cut out (repeat a few times). Then when it gets a hold and works... my internet will occasionally just disconnect whilst I'm using it.
What's up? :P

Basically, yes. When I restar my PC I have to manually disconnect the modem and reconnect it or else it won't work at all.

is there a lil hole in it that u have to use a toothpic or needle to push in to reset?
if so there is a cycle u need to try...but no point me going through it if u dont have that reset button

UNPLUG it fromt he power for a minute or so, should clear the memory, tahts the most basic of fixes to try and 7/10 times it will work

seahalks and u are both correct...however it also depends on the brand.
Different brands have different internal clocks, regardless 2 min is the usual marker, 5 min is the uber safe.
If u have a reset button as i stated before (the one that needs a needle to press) use it then turn off for 5 min...When u turn the device back on have the reset button pressed down too, let it all cycle and take the pressure off the reset button, it should cycle again...now try it and if ur still getting it cutting out....pay 10 quid for a bloody new modem u cheap arsed scots bastard

Right I couldn't see a reset button... so it looks like I'll be unplugging for 5 minutes (Y)

Nope no router, still at Uni so can't test the "leave off for 5 minutes" suggestion yet. :P

start cmd
ipconfig /release

Actually instead of doing anything just now, I'll wait until it breaks again since it's on a good run just now lol.
