it's still soccer...which is british football i was trying to not upset the limey brits with their it's football not soccer comments. It sounds like farsi to me. In hockey they don't stop the fights, they wait til it's over and put them in the penelaty box for 2 minutes.

Thats all in one game! :)
Fighting in hockey is very respectful in most cases. Some fights they will discuss it and even say goodluck before the fight. If one players see's that the other is injured or doesn't want to go on, they will usually top and let the officials come in break it up

Good example of two people agreeing to square off and go at it, shown in the replay with laraque wearing a mic that game.

And of course some good knockouts.
No pussy punches like soccer ;)

I thought you told me once you played hockey? Hockey on that side of the ocean must be as brutal as your football i guess. If anything, the padding can add more damage. I'll see if I can find the video of a fight where the players punch slips off the guys head and his padding, which is hard plastic, ends up giving the other guy a gash on his head. The equipment doesn't stop much for a fight. you can still swing pretty good. so I dont see how the padding stops hits to the head. the only thing that stops that, is when you play minor hockey as a kid and you're required to wear a full helment and face mask. higher levels only require a half visor and helment, the only thing keeping it on your head is usually a loose bottom strap that gets knocked off even from hits. So i speak from experience. youre wrong. I'll edit in the vid if i can find it.

The punch that started that riot (that lasted even into the changing rooms (vid cuts off before its over) Shattered the guy who was punched nose, it was a terrible end to a game and things like that should not be in sport,
SPORTsmanship an all too forgotten word recently
