The council in Manchester installed some retractable bollards to stop people using bus lanes. It's causing a bit of uproar with the public.

The busses, police and ambulances have a transmiter under the bonnet and when the bollard gets a signal from the transmitter it sinks into the tarmac and then when the transmitter goes out of range the bollard pops up again.

damn it, it was wishful thinking that i could have had the most hilarious job in history....... me stops trying to adapt my CV to highlight why i would make a good bollard controller and enters the real world again.........
