If the split is done there will be a Alternative section away from this bit for "open house style debate" yadda yadda.

Why would this need to be done, becuase so many damn people leave because of 2 reasons...the admins being slow with the games and secondly becuase the forum is like a big ole love in site that hardly resembels what it used to...and for those that left, i say sorry, becuase its partly my fault in the sence i created the open house forum thinking it would be used correctly and keeping life questions out of the dopewars/games forum!

I never thought that I would find myself agreeing with something like this, but I think that all the comments brought up recently about the amount of flirting and sex talk in the forum are right on point..

Noone enjoys flirting more than I do..:hidey: It's fun..It's a way of socializing, but there is a time and a place for it.I think that somewhere along the lines people lost track of what is appropriate and what isnt. There have been times where I have even been shocked by what's being said in the sb. lol trust me, i am no angel and have contributed to this at times, but just try to understand where they are coming from. They come on here to post things in threads and actually expect a serious response to whatever the topic is, and end up with "/me grabs cam's ass" etc....There are plenty of threads where flirting is appropriate, but it seems that instead it is just spread throughout every thread. Just try to keep the flirting limited...Noone says that flirting is bad..It's just the direction that all the flirting is taking the forum that is..

This forum has been around in one form or another for almost 4 years. I for one loved the way it was in the old days. Flame, repect, friends and gaming. Yeah we did the open house thing and we all loved it but if it has become fodder for sexual encounters then that is clearly not what this place is for. If we as a community can't steer this back in the right direction then we are all at fault. I personally LOVE the SB, but if its being used for anything other than clean chat and good fun then it too must go....I'd HATE that because I have met a lot of cool people in spite of it.

no one wants to dicate how ppl express themselves here.. just use common sense and stop shoving sex shows down other ppls throats.. simple as that. If a person's confidence/ego needs a boost and they need to get that here in the forum.. fair enough.. but there's certain lines that shouldn't be crossed out of respect for others. And when ppl get upset just because a forum rule is defined, then it makes the situation worse.. like this has gotten.

SB can and for the most part IS a good thing, it helps ppl have chats with those they normally wouldn't know.. let's protect that by following what is asked of us, which really isn't much. No racism, No harassment, and No cyber type sex talk .. that's all.

See thats my problem, firstly the whole sex talk thing is easy to handle...don't invade other peoples threads with flirting/whatever when its unrelated to the original thread. So what's the ongoing issue here? Are we (mods and various forum members) bad guys because we've asked for some respect in the SB and in people's threads? If you (whoever) want to flame us for it, then by all means do so. I've been admin and modding a chat site for over 6 years, and now modding here, I am used to people bucking up against site rules and regulations. And its always the same.. a few who don't like it calling in their friends to support their "cause" and rebelling against it, trying to make the other one's look like mean people or whatever..


It's unfortunate that this all has to be this way now... I'd rather everyone could talk about it and resolve it and understand each other. I know for a fact that Most of the forum is in agreement that these lines shouldn't be crossed, because we have had many pm's and msn convos regarding it.

It all boils down to another thing John said.. Common sense. Why should there be specific guidelines? This forum has never needed them. Aeon admitted she has been one of the biggest flirts here, and yet she has NEVER been vulgar and blatantly cybered anyone that I can remember. Kitty too, always been a flirt. Well, I'm fairly new and really it seems to me that everyone is saying the same things over and over. As for me I get it you want less vulgar talk in the forum. I also get that the request is meant for everyone. That each of us as adults should be able to judge what might be deemed as inappropriate.

I personally got my panties in a bunch and got defensive because I felt I was getting called out, great that's done and I'm over it. I do however have some constructive criticism for admin. I think that everyone would appreciate this but I am only speaking for myself. FINALLY.. I love it when a plan comes together..

First off you are right, im not everyone, but not everybody on the forum has the balls to speak their mind, Not everyone enjoys the confrontation a thread like this so obviously brings, you would know about that if you had been here for a while and perhaps stopped licking everyone in the Sb for long enough to actually read the forums and perhaps take the time to come up with a decent attack on me, but as it stands your best attempt thus far is a dimwitted, second rate attempt the likes of which could easily be spewed by redrum with 5 minutes to think,

On your second point i completely agree, i like to insult people, i like to draw people into confrontation, you can only see the true side of somebody when you argue with them, that's a fact, and you are the LAST person who should be telling ME this, a simple retort to that attack on my person would be

"yeah but all you ever do is flirt and lick people" , i do believe that covers 90% of your content right?, hooray for us, a lot of people don't like flaming, a lot don't like flirting, yet you and your "girlfriend" refuse to change your ways, and i have recently, so you have no right to try and attack me with that doing so is foolish and ignorant on your part.. but what can we expect from somebody who is only good for cleaning toilets or making tacos eh?

As for the whole respect thing, i think i have already refuted and shown you deserve no such thing from me, i respect people where respect is due, look through my posts, one person on here who deserves my respect springs to mind.. Jacx, everyone deserves to give that man some love, yet he asks you and your clique to stop flirting and thus this thread/argument is born, yet i have praised him recently in a few of my posts and have shown my support for him when people have attacked him over a fair decision. I think its YOU who is not showing people the proper respect wetback

The funny thing is you go on to flame anybody that shows me respect, so that comprises of all my close friends in here are you saying that the likes of:

Jaijai, jacx, Dymond, Vixen, and judging by rep i have recent DURING the argument in this thread your beloved Erin.. I think you dating the wrong lady my little border bandit

Rules of posting in the forum:

- Use some common sense. We really shouldn't have to spell everything out for you.
- No more asking Admin/Mods for favors without a valid reason. This includes name changes, custom titles, vcash, rep, etc.
- If the forum staff makes a reasonable request, follow it. Don't harass them or sass them just because they're staff (same for the SB.)
- Keep flames to the A/I/W and Battlezone sections of the forum.
- Keep pointless spam to a minimum.
- Keep advertising to the appropriate section.
- NSFW avatars and signatures are not permitted. NSFW images must be marked beforehand, and preferably just linked to. A thread containing mainly NSFW material can be marked as such, and therefore people won't need to mark the images inside.
- No forum necromancy unless the post is extremely relevant to the topic at hand.
- No multi accounts without prior administrator approval. No using multi accounts to get around any punishments you may already have to serve with your main account.
- No more being a forum wiseass. So don't push things to where it's "technically ok" according to the rules. This is usually done in accordance with the failure to follow a staff member's reasonable request.
-Keep wierd/disgusting pictures and videos in the Misfits Corner.
