Has anyone ever really done this? I tried it out just to see what it was like and so far I've been mildly pleased. Basically it works as follows:

- Write some article about nearly whatever. For it to be a paid work it has to be at least 400 words (not even 1 full page typed/single spaced) and must be something that they may be able to place ads around it. This can be from news stories to recipies to how to videos.

- Submit it for payment, and if they want it, they'll make an offer. Accept it and they'll paypal you the accepted amount within a day or two.

- Get a small portion of bonus cash for getting people to read your junk. This part is pretty small though so it's more "icing on the cake" than anything else. You'd want the viewcounts to go up more for your "clout level." I've heard, but have no data to back up that a higher clout level = a higher average offer.

- I heard it was US people only and I know it's 18 and up only. I guess people from other countries could try it to see if it was possible for them to use it.

Anyway, I figured if there were enough interest in it, we could form some sort of little group where we all post random shit up there, and then view each other's crap to help each other out. Sure, it'd just be spending cash (although if you're a fast typer it wouldn't be bad cash) until I can figure out easy ways to milk the system, but hell, I figured why not see what other people think.

Bugger!

"INTERNATIONAL

Do you pay Content Producers who live outside of the United States?
Due to tax code and other regulations, at this time we are only able to offer payment to citizens or legal residents of the United States. If you are a not a citizen or legal resident of the U.S. you can submit content for no payment. U.S. citizens living abroad may submit content for payment.

I am not a citizen or legal resident of the United States, BUT I do have a PayPal email address. Can I be paid?
No. We understand that PayPal facilitates international payments, but we cannot offer payment to non-citizens or non-legal residents of the United States due to the legal limitations of our Independent Contractor/License Agreement. "

That's me out then. Good luck though.

Well shit, I guess it is US only.

I think I've also figured out that it may be best to do a bunch of "news articles," you can basically submit articles from local news, reword them and give them credit as a source, and crank them out en masse for tiny amounts of quick cash ($5 a piece.) I'll be trying that this week to see how well that works out in terms of efficiency.

According to their rules, you should be able to do it as long as you have American citizenship. It says US citizens can do it from abroad and you're technically an American citizen. I suspect they have this in place on the offchance that you need to file a W9 form (which shouldn't happen unless you make over $600 from the place.)

not enough money to make me desperate enough to plagerize/reorganize and then produce thoughtless and emotionless shite to clutter up space with.

nice thought though.
