Sitting on the shitter this morning at work I saw an article in Wall St. that said Ford will be selling Aston Martin to a British holdings company. The price is about $870 mil...
Ford will be keeping Jaguar and Land Rover but by selling Aston Martin that'll free up resources to improve Jags.
Are Aston Martins still popular in the U.K.?

yea they sold a whole 7k last year, which they said was a profit on the car. Lets see where they are in 3 years.

i was amazed when i read that story, Aston Martin is the worlds #1 "premium" brand right now and after years of being in the wilderness(bankrupt 7 times from memory) they are finally on the right track posting record unit, turnover and profit levels Ford bail :S wtf

i think the fact is that aston martin was the only bit of ford making money - hence its only real asset hence the only bit that someone might buy and give ford a bit of a cash boost, which they desperately need.....even though they should really have got more for the company....... but as i understand it they still own 15%
now if anyone feels like they might like to keep the company in its present good state of health, then please buy me one!

yep, they needed the money bad after a 2 bil loss and a 1.8 bill loss in the last 2 quarters. Lets just see if they focus on Jaguars like they did with the Austin Martin and see if they can turn it around.

It's good to see a British Marque coming home. There's plenty round where I live. Sadly, one has yet to grace my drive though...
