For Derby County to gain automatic promotion they will have to be the 1st ever Derby team to win more than 12 away games in a season
The Birmingham result today paired with the others at the weekend, make this fascinating race for promotion a 3 horse race, with Derby and Sunderland also in the mix.
I cant really see Derby winning all there home games against Coventry,Luton and Leeds they look easy but we all know they wont be,so that means we will have to win at least 1 of our remaining away games,Leicester,Ipswich and Palace
Leicester can still go down ,so will be well up for it, they would be anyway because of the rivalry,
Ipswich and Palace have little left to play for but pride which will make them dangerous opposition
Derby are under pressure to win these games because we are top of the league and people are expecting us to win
Is fate also going to have a say in the end for Derby, and to some extent Sunderland,
The last time we where promoted together in the 95/96 season Derby
won promotion with a win against Palace, that was the 45th game of the season this season our 45th game is at Palace,is that just a coincidence or fate! well only time will tell.
But also, the last time we won 12 away games 91/92 and 2004/05 we ended up in the play offs and lost both times.
Derby will have to win away again this season without question, but wether they can do it is still to be seen.
will it be unlucky 12 again !
or lucky 13 for the rams !
