Well Y.A.K and I (:O) are conspiring to write a little song about the fourm..

But.. we would hate to assume .. what you want us to say about you..

Is anyone interested in recording.. and sending.. a short little freestyle (acapella) about themselves to be added to the song..?

I just thought I would throw it out there and see if anyone is brave enough to create a mini (all be it distant) freaky little forum jam..???

I have a beat made and we can do whatever we want on top of it or change it but Its important (to me) that I get to do the mixing. :P

Unfortunately I don;t know how to use logic yet :( and this bumdel didnt come with protools :( :( so its in garage band but its pretty decent. Almost professional sounding!!

I'll post the beat on my myspace and allow you to dl it or I can send it via email or msn.

Listen to the song (on headphones) and try to come up with something about your favorite oddthought personality and/or game. If you have recording software you can do that or if you have skype you I can record it that way but it will lose a LOT of its sound quality.

Sound good?? I'm open to other suggestions (except I have to mix it lool)

And aeon we could jam on skype and record it but there wil probably be delay. I have 3 way on my phone and we could do it that way but then it will distorted and delayed but we coulf give it a try. it wil sound really crappy though until I get an actual mic and an audio interface.

Well Dave I have some suggestions..

One is that we can split up and each have our own lyricists (we'd need you to do it to make it even)

Two is that you can write a new (hip hop) beat and compare it to the beat on my page and offer it as a better one.

Three after the cutting up bits are done (becuase thats the most artistic part of any pop song) I['ll send it to you to adjust the levels and/or make suggestions to make the song better (be prepared for an argument)

It's not about rules. You wrote a whole new beat GREAT beat and I said lets work with that and you want to pull out becuase I don't want my beat that I made to be a loop?

I was saying in the SB exactly what happened in the history of this thing because thats the way it happened to show you why it did bum me out that you wrote a whole new beat. I wasn't trying to belittle you.

Your idea.. I wasn't trying to steal your thunder...
I told you about that little beat and you seemed interested.. so I wanted to show you...I was very excited and it felt like you reacted badly to it.
I was perfectly willing to chop up both songs and layer them
I even manuvered a temp layer just to hear it and the sounds go very well together..(all be it we have to beatmap them.) It wasn't a pity toss ... I genuinely liked the two sounds together.

side note: just to clear up another issue.

I do try and get along with you.. And it does take effort... You say your passionate and thats great.. but ...when your hurting other people and your not granting the same respect you require from others... it makes it very hard to get along with you. All in the name of passion....? I am very passionate aswell but... i'd hate to think that I might have hurt someone because I am acting out about my passion's and just because i am passionate about something doesn't give me the right to be a ass about it. (unless were in bed lol :D)
You seem to play word games and whether it's intentional or not, to me, it's not nice....
But "as you said" you don't care if I am nice to you and you don't want pity friends anyways sooo... nomatter. I was literally extending a olive branch to you on this. My hopes were that it may help us to get along better. As we all know we don't.

For me... it's hard to work with someone who isn't flexible and, I would rather throw in the towel than work with a person who won't even experiment, to me that's not music.. and that's my artistic integrity shining through. Music isn't just black and white to me.

Your beat was better than mine and it made me jealous and I didn't want to make my song just little peices in a song that sounded good already. I felt like even after when you said that your song needed my stuff and and that you wanted the file to do your stuff that I was gonna be left in the dust.

You are confident in yourself and your stuff and I'm not. Thats why I can't stop arguing. I need to reexplain it even though there is no way I can re-explain after I've pissed everyone off.

Probably why I only have a few friends and I'm spending my summer vacation at work and on the internet. Well that and the fact that I'm wading in bills.

I really was excited when you wanted to work on stuff with me becuase, in fact I do need you to be nice to me. It was cool being your friend for a minute.

The thing is that on the one hand I'm this sweet, thoughtful, silly, talented girl. And on the other much uglier hand I'm this insane control freak that takes care of business but often isn't sophisticated in anyway. When I get like that words are the only thing I have.

I got bored waiting for the other side of the world to wake up so heres a beat, maybe a little too laid back though... I'm not sure what the oddthought sound is?

Its 32 bars of a 16 bar loop at 93 bpm, do with it what you please. Ive tried to leave it as neutral and uncluttered as possible so people can add whatever to it.

Okay so now we have three beats and no lyrics!! lol.


it might be cool to use three different beats and actually suggest DAVE (since he wanted to do something with that anyway) could get some loops to bridge them together? for the sake of song structure and listenability I'd say start with one and have that be the verse beat, then the next beat will be the hook beat which would be cool if we had everyone sing on it like we were drinking together or something and this is a really long sentance and I'll end it now. THEn we go back to the other beat and its the verse and end with the final beat (we can always spead up mikeys beat which will change the tonality but oh well.)

Its the oddthought rap it doesn't matter if its slightly flat (chances are its gonna be awful acutally ahahaha). we just have to get these three off beat off key musical interludes to somehow work together then when we are done with the final song we can (this means you tca konser and dave!! and whoever else wants to put thier two cents in) write the verses and the hook!

for right now I'm going to put my head to the pillow.

p.s. I don't have WAV i only have .aiff :P but its no problem its just faster to dl mp3 and to me and my 20 dollar speakers the sound quality isn't much different !! ( also bear in mind that most/all of the vocals will be done via computer mic and/or phone so its not gonna sound studio quality anyhow.

Well this will be a challenge for you then ;)

It's only going to be fair to get everyone involved here and furthermore Mikey's beat (although its great) is too chill. We're trying to make it humorous and the chill beat doesnt totally fit the style but I think we can use it. We can easily take something away from one of the other beats available if necessary, but I don't think it will be.

Also, did you listen to all of the beats? Their all pretty good just slightly different which will be cool to showcase the diversity of oddthought.

Thanks for helping out it might be best to wait and see what Dave does to loop things together. If, when we are done you like it and are still willing to help that would be great!

I think to be a proper jam everyone should do whatever they feel like doing. Everyone should post their beats/mixes here and then people can pick whichever one they want to add to in whatever way, then post it back here for others to add to, remix, sing/rap over, play the spoons on.... etc etc.

the only way these mix is if i cut aeons up beat by beat and tbh that will take to long to get perfect as there is some release on the beats so there is no clean way to cut it

I never said it was gonna be easy!

But I know its possible because i've been working on it for a few days and if you have cakewalk or protools then you are one up on my garage band setup--should be even easier to fine tune.

My suggestion is to put aeons beat into a seperate project and change the tempo to fit the other beats. Then the two will sound completely different but if you use volume control, sequencer effects, and panning you should be able to blend them together with a bit of difficulty ahahah.. So far I have put in 4 hours total but I'm almost done. Aeon said its okay to cutup here beat and there are a few bars that go really well with mine and make it more interesting..

I still want to use yours but you have to use Sensai Lisa Maries number one rule!!
