honey and soy sauce for chicken, or a dry coating with 1 cup plain flour, 1/4 cup paprika, and chille, ginger and cayenne pepper to taste.
milk with a few drops of soy is a good marinade for fish.

I soak a piece of meat all day or over night (this is important) with a mesquite flavored Lawry's 30 Minute Marinade and add in Montreal steak seasoning and a healthy amount of burgandy cooking whine. The whine ends up being the prodominant flavor and its great
also, the same Lawry's company makes a tequila lime flavor marinade and I some Corona too it while its sitting

italian dressing goes good on everything
i marinate steak or pork. For chicken I grill about half way then paint it on.
Other than that I usually mix up my own or use sonny's bbq sauce

Spork, that sounds exactly how John makes chicken on the grill.. with the honey/soy/paprika/ and he also uses Tandori (sp) spices too, It's excellent and a flavor I'd never had before he made it.
**just be aware that if you marinade in soy sauce too long your meat turns black and looks gross**
Also marinading steaks in Italian dressing is something I've done alot too.. It tenderizes them while adding a good flavor too. :nods:
Sometimes I like to just use some salt and pepper and cook a steak with no marinade at all, depends on my mood.

Soak anything in "Soy Vay Veri Veri Teriyaki" overnight.
Yummy!
Soy Vay also has an "Island Teriyaki" that is similar,
but I just add some pineapple juice to the regular one for a similar effect.
They have a "Wasabiyaki" and a "Hoisin Garlic Asian Glaze" as well.
Their "Cha Cha Chinese Chicken Dressing" I haven't yet tried, but it sounds wonderful.

My ex girlfriend introduced me to this product (she lives on a cattle farm) and I've never found a better marinade. You only need to marinade with this stuff for twenty minutes, and it actually works well at 20 mins, but I always prefer to marinate over night. I am planning to bring this sauce to my restaurant here in Chile when we open the hotel. That's how damned good it is!

Link Bookmarked.
Product supposed to be at an Albertson's here in Oregon.
Will definitely check it out.
I'm always looking for something new.
Do you recommend trying it on ribs or steak for a first try?

Well, to tell you the truth, I've never tried it on ribs. This is not a BBQ sauce per say. It's a marinade. It soaks into the meat and makes it full of flavor and also helps to keep your meat tender. This stuff works great though. I will often marinade with Dakota Buckaroo and then in the last few minutes while my meat is on the grill add a BBQ Sauce to finish it off. BBQ Sauce generally should not be used on your meat when you begin grilling. The sugar in the BBQ sauce tends to burn causing your meat to blacken... Blah blah blah...
Marinade the meat with DB, follow with BBQ sauce 3-5 mins before you pull the meat off the grill, and you've got a great meal. Ribs should work just as good as steak.
*Sidenote:
This is by no means a professional opinion, just the way I prefer to grill.
