those types of dogs need to be brushed daily!they mat very easy....fastest is behind ears arms and ass...and if they are there it means they prob don't get brushed everyday(don't feel bad nobody really does it) so they are prob really tight. They need to be clippered out.

if over the body the hole dog needs to be shaved...then u can start fresh...most people don't have the time to up keep on there dogs coats so they keep them pretty short.

MATTS HURT DOGS!!!that is why most groomers shave them...also it is to hard to brush out.BUT if the mats are small and easy you should use a greyhound comb(medal comb) and a slicker brush.seperate the hair and work sections at a time.NEVER use shears!!!dogs skin is elastic and will get caught and cut.

make sure u take out mats before u bath the dog.....if not...bathing/water will make them tighter.

I am not sure if this is what u where looking

Aiyana! how cool! i need your help (f)

my poor dog needs a good clipping. she is to scared to go to the groomers. what type of clippers do you recommend? i think just an all over clipping would be good for her. but not to the skin :O! i mean like with an attachment. i was planning on spending about $150 on a set of good Oyster clippers. i use them on the horses too.

my girl Sasha is 10 years old this month. she is a Rottie/Sheepdog mix thingy. so she has kind of long hair and she isn't shedding out like she should from winter.

Oyster is ok but I use andis.....they both most of the time come with a #10 blade...snap will not work if the coat is matted in anyway....just use the #10...but very slow...if coat is matted

petedge.com have them in that price range

is the coat matted....either way let me know and i will help u out on how and what to do :)

oh ya and a cheat clipper won't work...the one u want to get in that price is perfect,,,but get a 2 speed

if she is not to bad i would get a desheding tool ...there under 20 bucks...before you use a snap on or it will never work....also make sure the coat is very clean and use a slicker bush throught ever inch of the coat(i am sure you have one of those and don't even know it)....you can get a slicker brush between 5 and 18 bucks

ok thanks so much! i tried using the regular hair clippers from Wal Mart.... yeah didn't work. i also got her some vitamins in powder form that mixes with her food. maybe she is missing something in her diet too. i am going to order some of the clippers you recommended and get her purty again.
