MmmmMm grilled squid

Actually.. there's lots of things u can grill.

For instance, I just learned a perfect way to grill potatoes. Ya know how if you put raw potatoes on the grill, they get burned on the outside before they get soft in the middle. Well watching food network I learned that if you cut your potatoes in wedges, I usually make 4 wedges lengthwise from each potato, and u boil them on the stove till they are about half done, then drain them.

Then you rub olive oil all over them and season them with whatever you like.. I use roasted paprika, garlic powder, onion powder and lawrys. Then BBQ them, turning frequently. You can brush butter or olive oil on them as they cook too.

They are freakin awesome : P ~~~~~

Hmm I've never eaten shark.. I'll have to try that sometime. I love most seafood :nods:

I'm confused.. when we say BBQ we mean grill cooking and not BBQ sauce.. Cuz where I come from.. it aint bbq unless it has bbq sauce --Which I prefer on chicken and ribs but not on steak.. BUT grilled steak with montreal seasonging is mighty tasty.. some A1 dribble on top and a buttery pile of hot (and whipped) mashed taters!! okay I'm homesick now-- :'(

And corn on the COB!!!

And yea Resa you boil them but another way to do it is to stab them up a lot then wrap them in foil, it takes a while (like baking it in the oven) but eventually you will have som nice baked potatoes!1

Another cool thing that my aunt does is that she kinda carves the potato a bit, then puts little bit of olive oil (not too much), garlic (chopped),cheese, salt and pepper some hamburger if you like and THEN wraps it in tin foil and throw it on the grill. Its called hobo something... Idk.. its pretty good.. the insides of the potato can go back in the wrap (after being chopped up) or you can cook them in strips...

I wanna go camping!! :'(

Tonight I did some potatoes, onion, seasonings and a bit of xtra virgin olive oil, wrapped them in foil and layed it on the grill while the meat cooked. MmmMm they were really tender and tasty : P ~~~~~

thats the problem with u yanks, u hear the term BBQ and instantly assume its a pile of meat with bloody BBQ sauce all over it.

BBQ is a FORM of cooking fuckers, ribs dont need tons of sauce.. try cooking ribs with just salt, pepper and a squeese of lemon juice...its kickin

tis true!! open flame is the best way to cook for real.

So what do we like, charcoal, propane, real wood??

Dymond
14th June 2007, 01:29 AM
I like Propane cause its fast and easy. Like if I want to grill up some chicken but for the pure taste you can't be charcoal.

Charcoal is really tastey. Although my bbq is hooked up to the natural gas line for ease of use.

My hillbilly neigbours like to use scrap lumber in their old bbq. It's fun watching them chop up pieces with the axe. Maybe i should tell them that the pressure treated wood has arsenic in it?

*lmao* @ "three eyed hillbilly kids"

I prefer grilling on a campfire first, charcoal second, propane last.
Barbecue...YUMMY!

Any meat is made better by throwing it on a barbecue grill. *imho*
BBQ sauce is good on ribs (beef or pork), but boil country style ribs first to help them be more tender.
I marinade Steak or Chicken overnight in Soy Vay Very Very Teriyaki...this stuff is awesome.
Fish in foil stuffed and topped with garlic, onion, lemon, a little bit of salt and pepper, and Dill Weed if inclined.

Vegetables are great for grilling too.
Squash sliced into fat slices brushed with Olive Oil or butter and a sprinkle of Lawry's is quite yummy.
Wrap corn on the cob in the husk with foil...
makes for a nutty flavor, and seldom does the corn actually burn.
The foil wrapped idea works great for all veggies as well.
Again, can't think of one vegetable that wouldn't benefit from grilling.
Okay, maybe lettuce. *grin*

I've even mastered making Belgium Waffles on campfire coals.
You have to wait until they are no longer burning, but merely glowing.
This is also a great place to cook anything foil wrapped.
