OK WELL IT ISNT FOR REAL.. but anyway i have a serious Penicillin allergy and i always wondered what people like me take if they were to ever have a std or something like that? isnt that the only thing that gets rid of serioud std's?:P
ok i need to edit this..
I DO NOT HAVE A STD.!!
i was just wondering if people that have the allergy are just out of luck or is there something else

That sucks. I am seriously allergic to penicillin also.
Good luck with your STD - I;m sure the docs can find something to give you

there certainly are other antibiotics that can help clear up your condition - Tetracyclines are particularly good and work very quickly.

lol Flash, sounds like you know the subject.
How "serious" is your allergy? I had a near fatal reaction to penicillin as a 6 yo, but have had it as an adult with no problems, the Dr. said this was common. Have you had penicillin, or any of it's dervatives recently?

yeah i had some amoxicillen a while ago for a cold.and my face blew up, i couldnt breath well.. had broke out in hives.. had to be rushed back to the hospital.:O

in the uk theres something called fluxacillin (sp) my mum is allergic to penicillin (sp) and the alternative :O so she takes something else but i crnt remember the name :hidey:

there are a whole raft of different antibiotics available - however, bacteria are becoming resistant to even the newer and most powerful ones. So here is my rant of the day - if you are prescribed an antibiotic, take the correct dose and take the full course. Do not stop when you are feeling better - take all the drugs, bacteria are commonly still present even though you feel better.
