if u notice in that fight Gannon was shooting on Kimbo and using knees aswell and they were bitching about it. Bob Sapp and Kimbo would be better to watch.

To me, this fight is a street fighter with no technique and a washup. Kimbo will only win fights if he catches lucky shots on the buttons. Sure he's training with Rutten, but for how long? 2 months max? It takes alot long than that to come from brawling in alleys with your crackhead friends to break shit up when its looking bad for you, to an MMA fighter. That said, Ive seen some of Mercers work, and I just don't think its an interesting fight. I would like to see kimbo, even though im not a fan at all, train longer, and step in with some heavyweights be it ufc or pride. Sure he could probably snap your face in half with a punch, but if someone wants to work him down, whats his endurance like. One video i watched he said "I've been training for two weeks, I'm in the best shape of my life baby". I don't believe it. But it's hard to compare kimbo to other mma fighters, its two different things.

both brawlers, out fo shape brawlers, they'd both be too winded to fight after one round. Plus I seen Kimbo get his ass handed to him, the fight lasted a lil to long for his ass. he was panting like a wounded beast.

Yeah, that cop was Sean Gannon. He was mentioned in a few earlier posts. He was a Detriot police officer. He beat the dog-shit out of Kimbo slice. Should change his name to Kimbowned.

Kimbo will get his ass handed to him the first time he fights any semi-decent pro fighter in either MMA or boxing.

Mercer was a good boxer with a granite chin, but that was over a decade ago, the dude is like 342 years old now. He is likely to lose, especially under MMA rules.


Whats really interesting about this fight is seeing how far amateur internet videos can carry a mediocre fighter in terms of popularity and money-making ability. I bet we'll be seeing a lot more of this in the near future.

mercer is either 37 or 47 years old. Gold Medal Boxer former wbo heavyweight champ. Who recently lost a close match to shannon briggs in a title fight. (he gassed out and lost) but does have 2 MMA fights already under his belt.

Mercer is 46 and hasn't stepped into the ring in two years. His first MMA fight against Bonjansky was a 5 second disaster, not sure what happened in the other fight.
He's got a name, but at this point in his life he'll sadly take whatever paycheck he can get. I am sorry, but Mercer is more washed up than Tyson at this point (if thats even possible).

I been training maui thai for the past 5 years....Last thing I would want to hear is no knees. I would love to see that mother fucker in the UFC....bet he loose most of his fights, that's if he even win one, after all there are weight classes in the UFC

my buddies and i have been screaming this for awhile. Kimbo's crew was screaming no knees but in other video's kimbo is throwing knee's. He was getting beat and they want to whine like bitches. Well, like I said before the fight Mercer was just too old and not MMA trained to present any kind of challenge to Kimbo. Ray just stood in front of him, not throwing much in return, and was absolutely unprepared for take downs and ground game. Credit to Kimbo for properly training for the fight and displaying some decent skills, also it wasn't hard to look good against a human punching bag. Lets see how he does in his next fight against a credible opponent.
