I have to agree with that, I also think that it's pretty pathetic that recognition threads are handed out on a scheduled time, I think recognition threads either need to be given out by majority vote at any time to people really deserving recognition or scrap the whole idea altogether, the way it stands now it basically comes down to favouritism and even if I managed to get one under the current layout, I wouldn't bother replying.

EXCUSE ME!!!!!! I am not friends with the last group of people that have gotten a recognition thread. I take the suggestions that are given to me and go with that. Half the time it has taken a bit longer for me to get them up because I have to get poll questions from other people as I don't know them well enough to make them. It's just "admins mates" who get recognition threads? I got a recognition thread and I'm not a mate of the admins, not really. I don't use MSN so I can't be accused of just getting one for talking alot to the admins.

As Vixen has already stated, her latest threads were based on YOUR suggestions so why don't you all quit your whining and suggest the players who "will never get recognition threads" when she asks! It's your faults that they won't get one for not suggesting them!

There should be a time limit on recognition threads. Why give them out to everyone. I can think of plenty of people in my opinion that come before ruff for a recognition thread but it wouldn't be something to be proud of if everyone was getting them.

That's like giving everyone rocket launchers to stop the problem of gun violence. This forum is widely known for being full of cliques. Doing what you'd suggest and have a forum majority vote will lead to far more favoritism than if you let just 1 person, who receives no comments from anyone else, choose from the suggestions provided to her. It's not like she's doing a bad job either, as there are very few people that have received threads that anyone could argue as to if they deserved the thread or not.

KS, I know my suggestion isn't the perfect solution but I think it's even further from perfect right now. In this thread you can see alot of opinions and most of them claim some sort of biased system, it was inevitable after letting one person have the final say on who gets recognition or not.

OR...

I think that recognition threads should be achievement based and be given out as and when they happen. What the player has achieved could be posted in his/her recognition thread so you don't get any whingeing about favouritism.

Other then that, me and Jacx were talking about this in MSN last night and i'm sure he's talked with others plus I know it's up for discussion in the improvements section and I think he's gonna post the rules/layout regarding recognition at some point today, so if Vixens lynch mob could lay down their weapons...

Not being funny, but i know people who been here for 3 years and not got one...how u justifying ur point. Recog threads are about vets of the game, not about personaltys...its to celebrate a long time player and contributer, so instead if jumping in, please ask us and we can explain this and then you guys can suggest alternative recog threads!!

Vixen does the recog threads as normal..max 2 a month...im not gonna weaken them...its supposed to be rair and special and thats the way its gonna stand!

What i suggested and its open for discussion is a "underground" version of them.

The will be done on a basis that u lot can agree, and can be for achevement as u lot like to put it.

You might want to set it so that the person who gets one nominates the next one or puts a choice up to vote..u lot discuss..

But they will be run by u lot, people can get both type of thread in time.

You lot talk about how it would work...i will even make a section for it...but it will be class as a endorced but unofficial "player" thread.

i agree with naz and connies ideas above ^^^ and think thats a great idea. it is sort of like the idea that was raised in the old forum. but they wanted to call it a "hall of fame" or something like that where people were recognised for things they done in and out of the game (eg forum is out of game). would keep alot of people happy. and the way to make it fair for people to vote in would be to fill it out before entering the game, say like at the end of each A, B and C game certain people are picked as to what they do, consistent scores (eg so and so got 5 scores in overall 100.) and things like that, i like connies ideas, but have people vote when playing the game as it wont be just the people that read the forum but also people that just play the game. that way people can nominate others in here and then in game everyone can vote. put a sign up saying how to nominate people, might get more dopewars players to join up in here aswell.

and i like the ones vix does for people. it may be rare but people are happy with it and they find out who is recognised for anything really. wether it be in game or not.

Nicky, it has been brought to my attention that you have been around for quite some time so I am totally shocked that you have no idea how a recognition thread works. If you think I do them based on my friendship with people in the game then you don't know me well at all. I have about a handful of people in this game I consider friends, another handful I talk to and the rest are just forum members. 99% of the people I have made threads for are just forum members. 99% of them are people that have been suggested to me. So please, talk to me before you assume things.

As for the thread I made the other day, it was between 2 people. One I know enough to make a thread and the other I didn't. I actually tried to add 2 people to MSN to talk to them to get suggestions but neither were on. I have since been in contact with a member of the forum who has given me GREAT suggestions and this person will be next.

So like I said I am open to suggestions and input, I ALWAYS have been....so please do not blame me for your inaccurate assumptions, its not MY fault!

If you actually read my post you will see at no point did I accuse you of croneyism or favouritism. What I said was with the process not being open and visible it is easy to see why, possibly, some people are able to make such an assumption.

As for me being around for some time, yes I have been but I didn't bother much with the old forum very often and merely played the game. That doesn't mean I don't know the process for the recognition threads NOW. I certainly wouldn't have 6 months ago so your disbelief is somewhat odd.
