always one to be controversial...... i actually agree somewhat with what BeerBong said - i do wish people would play out in the open a bit more and i too didnt think very highly of the line that he quoted in his opening statement (although its very much in shiros nature to write things like that and it certainly makes for some interesting threads, so keep it up :hehe:)

However, we play this game to have fun, meet some people..... and at the end of the day..... to win. Hiding is an important feature that enable people to maximise their potential as players, there are people that run junkies virtually constantly and so would be very easy targets to n00b and good gunners alike if they ran in the open all the time and the same goes for cartels that gunners would like to hit. Daqqers have proven time and time again that they are pure quality running in the open or in hiding, they have some of the best players in the game and although they can still win playing in the open, being jumped all round really isnt any fun.........

in the 2+ years i have been playing.. there have always been people hiding and pulling last minute.. i don't think it is going to stop anytime soon. :( just becareful when you let people in.

it's what makes the game go round... it may leave you a bad reputation, but would you rather have a bad reputation for leaving a n00b cart and joining reds, daqqs, nwc, love rats @ the end or winning overall from a no name cartel that finish with not even 1 bil?

It's been a tactic since about round 4...years now.
The trick is not to be a twat that lets anyone into your cartel....lets face it, we get the details from somewhere...could it be that spam message you sent to the whole room? :hehe:

It's actually easy to build up a cart. Spam a room..finish nowhere, but retain a few players who showed promise and loyalty...start agin next round....and repeat.
After a while you have a decent core of players, and will start scoring higher...not long before you can challenge

in my opinion, if you dont take every advantage you can to win you are stupid. it is like someone giving you a head start in a race for money and you don't take it.

why not? it's about winning, thats it. every player/cart is presented with the same opportunities. we can all hide, the smart ones choose to, the dumb ones just lose.
