My LCD monitor won't work, why?
When I turn it off from the wall then on it'll occasionally flicker on and then off again. I thought it might be the fuse, but it isn't. The wires have been checked and rechecked to make sure they are in properly. I also tried this monitors wire in it and it done the same (and the LCD's wire in this and it worked fine). What's up with it?
And my patience is low while my temper is high. In fact, if my knickles weren't already painfully bruised I think the monitor would be a lot worse off than it is.

I ate the chocolates, drank the wine and lost the flowers. :(
I figured as much but do you have any idea what's actually up with it?

I'm guessing the connector pn the LCD that the plug goes in might be having some problems.

If your monitor has a menu button for making adjustments, what happens when you press it?
If the menu comes up... then at least you know that the flourescents aren't burned out.
How long have you hade the monitor?
Most LCD monitors have a 3 year warranty and you can get an RMA from the manufacturer to have it repaired or replaced at no cost as long as it is in warranty.

Nothing, when I turn it on it doesn't go on at all.
I've had the LCD monitor for 7 months-ish. I got the whole setup from eBay but they don't keep history that far back so I can't see if there was a warranty. Although on checking the companies current offers it says "3year guarentee on LCD monitors" so I guess I'll drop them an email and ask them about getting it fixed.

Even if you didn't buy it retail... most manufacturers will still honor the warranty.
Depending on who the manufacturer is, you may be able to check the warranty status on their website. Usually they just have you enter the model and serial number.
In most cases, you will end up having to call their support hotline and talk to an actual person.
Sometimes they ask where the item was originally purchased. Don't stress off this question. It's just a bullshit question they use to sidetrack people so they have fewer warranties coming in (in my opinion). If you don't know where it was originally purchased and you explain that you bought it in an online auction... they should still allow it to go through as long as the warranty period hasn't passed.
I have warrantied many items in my time and no matter what questions or items they ask for... I have usually been able to warranty the stuff with or without it.
If you don't mind me asking...
What brand/model is it?

Their website is not very helpful and does not specify any way to contact them for support or otherwise. That seems kind of shady to me.
Although they claim that they have a 3 year warranty on all their LCD monitors.
All I could find was this number to their warranty department:
CIBOX monitors warranty Department
If your CIBOX TFT monitor fails the contact number is 0871 8553176

Phoned them, got a reference number and all I need to do is email them my receipt. Thank fuck I use gmail and keep every piece of shite I'm sent. :P It took me so long to phone because it's a cunt if you get a bad reception and/or a call center in India. Luckily it was some burd from England so reception was good even if she couldn't under stand me sometimes. :P
edit - Actually the PC receipt doesn't list it as a Cibox monitor so I need to get a more complete receipt.
