So yeah Limewire suddenly stopped working for whatever reason, it shuts down 2 seconds after it gets to it's main and I've done everything I could from reading support..doesn't make any sense.
But anyways yeah is there another good program besides limewire I can use to get my music :/

Bittorrent, and it doesnt come bundled with a bunch of crap that robs bandwidth.
Read this: http://www.webmonkey.com/06/05/index2a.html

lol well yeah I've got a bitorrent client...UTorrent
But that doesn't solve my problem, torrent is good for downloading things such as whole albums..but for single songs...especially ones that are not as popular...applications such as limewire is far better.

Try Shareaza (http://www.shareaza.com/) - I used many P2P clients and I think Shareaza is the best .

I usually find that if i want a single song, just download the torrent album and deselect the rest of the tracks (bar the one song that you want) and Utorrents pretty good for getting single tracks that way

Actually thats the easiest way to do it. If you use BT search engines like BTJunkie.org you can even search within files so you can find a song you want buried within huge mp3 archives. Since using BT Junkies file search there isn't one MP3 I've been looking for that I haven't been able to find. I then grab the torrent, deslect all then find the song I want and I'm done.

Do you have a college email account or a friend that would have one? If so, try ruckus.com. I've heard plenty of great things about it, but I graduated college a while ago and haven't had a chance to try it out without having to pay for it. On that note, if someone in college wants to make a free account and give me the info, I would be thankful.
http://www.b3ta.cr3ation.co.uk/ - Another search and download music site. After you searched, you can switch over to jukebox mode and then preview the files before downloading them. Not a horrible site considering you don't have to download anything for it.

You can use Google to find songs too.
Simple version: /indexof "<song or artist name>" .mp3
Complex version: -inurl:(htm|html|php) intitle:"index of" +"last modified" +"parent directory" +description +size +(wma|mp3|ogg) "<song or artist name>"

Again, do bittorrent or go underground to IRC, communication is key.

Been awhile for me also, but you can pretty much find anything down there if you are savvy enough.

How are the speeds? Where abouts are the chat rooms? What files do they have? I mean are they lsted or do you have to request a particular file? What about UseNext? I hear that's pretty decent too but know fuck all about it.
Sorry if I'm being a pain in the arse it's just users opinions are better than a websites own boasting of it. :P

well I think UseNext is some sort of automated way to pull files from Newsgroup binaries. A few sites tried doing it on their own but it sounds like there wasn't alot of interest in it. I would have to do more research but I know its something they wanted you to buy so that waved me off. As for the IRC rooms..For lack of a better word its a free for all out there. Its been awhile since I've been on them but if I see Shiro around I'll ask him for some good ones.
